April Fools’ day is a fun holiday celebrated by people playing practical jokes on friends and family, or getting a joke played on them.
Even though it may be seen like a childish holiday, many high school students, including some at Eagle High, play fun pranks on friends and family. It can be a really fun, light-hearted way to get in a good laugh or two.
Some of students love to come up with a fake storyline to prank their friends in hopes of making them freak out a little just for fun.
“This April I pranked my boyfriend that I was moving to another state and he freaked out,” said senior Ella Stenquist.
Even though pranks might scare someone for a minute, they are something that they can look back on and laugh at.
“Once I told him he looked so relived, I really got him this year,” Stenquist said.
Many love telling new jokes every year to their loved ones. However, some students discuss memorable pranks that their family has played on them in the past.
“One April Fools’ prank I will always remember was when my mom pranked me that she made me homemade brownies, but really it was just a the letter E cut out in brown paper,” said junior Jonas Parlor.
This is exactly what the holiday is all about. Fun and silly jokes that allow students and their loved ones to laugh and have a happy story to tell for years to come.
Many people may not think high schoolers still celebrate or remember April Fools’ jokes that they have played or have had played on them, however, they do. Eagle High students like Stenquist and Parlor have made many great memories throughout the years of April Fools’.
