As the school year comes to an end, many seniors at Eagle High have been looking back on the moments that made their final year memorable. While some cherished time with their friends, others were excited for the freedom that came with their senior year.
“My favorite memory from my senior year has to be when Mr. Wright wore a funny shirt to class,” said senior Jonah Alford.
Teachers are a big part of a student’s experience, so having teachers who are humorous and keep everyone involved is so important. Alford explained that before he became a senior, he had been jealous of all his senior friends who got to experience having more time off and having more exciting classes.
“I was looking forward to being a senior because all of my friends used to be seniors and I wanted release periods,” Alford said.
Now that he is a senior, he feels like his expectations were met and even made school feel less stressful.
“School feels very optional now, which makes it hard to want to go,” Alford said.
As the year starts to come to an end, Alford is most excited about his future, even though it means leaving behind loved ones.
“The only thing I am really sad about is probably leaving all my friends,” he said.
Another student, senior Colton Feist, has many different memories that made his final year enjoyable.
“My favorite senior memory is definitely just being able to see my friends every day, it’s so fun and we make new memories everyday so it’s hard to choose just one,” Feist said.
Like many seniors, Feist had been looking forward to the easier pace of senior year before it began.
“This school year has been very light and definitely not as difficult as junior year,” Feist said.
Senior year helps bring students together, and this can help everyone form new connections with people they usually wouldn’t hang out with.
“Everyone just became friends out of nowhere and now we are all just having a good time,” Feist said.
Although after graduation everyone usually goes in different directions for their future, the memories and connections that students made during their final year of high school will stay with them for forever.
