With the end of the school year fast approaching, seniors are planning for graduation. With the big event upcoming, the graduating class has a lot to look forward to.
Graduation for the class of 2026 is shaping up to be a big event. Between graduation walks at their old elementary schools, selecting class officers along with cap and gown collection on April 24, there’s many things going on for the seniors’ final month. There’s also unofficial celebrations like a graduation party at Big Al’s on May 20 and Senior Sunset on a date to be determined.
There are lots of rules for graduation this year, including restrictions on phones, bag sizes and food. Seniors are not allowed to have their phones in their pockets during graduation. Graduating seniors are expected to be at Idaho Central Credit Union Arena on May 19 at 6:00 pm. The ceremony starts at 7:30 pm, with live streaming for those unable to attend in person, which will be on Eagle High Schools webpage.
Seniors received their cap and gown on April 24 and have graduation practice on May 15 in the gym.
The class of 2026’s valedictorian is Johnathan Zhang, with other speakers to be revealed later. If you plan on attending in person, Downtown Boise does have public parking garages, or street parking if you prefer that.
Seniors have had a lot to do this year, with college applications, signing for sports, working after school jobs and getting classwork done to finish this last year strong. But now that the end of the year is almost here, a weight is being lifted from the class of 2026’s shoulders as they move on to whatever life has in store for them.
