Linder Road has been closed due to phase one of the Linder Road, State Highway 44 to Floating Feather Road Project. The road has been closed between Saguaro Drive and Rosslare Court since Nov. 11, 2025. The road will not reopen until the spring of 2026.
The overall goal of the project is to help with traffic on Linder Road. The project will result in Linder Road being widened to five lanes. The project will also end with a brand-new roundabout at Floating Feather and Linder Road as well as new walking paths along the road.
Although the overall goal is to improve traffic, the project is currently causing more delays, especially for Eagle High students that have to travel on or past Linder Road to get to school. Junior Brooke Montgomery has had to endure the traffic backups because her neighborhood entrance is on Linder Road. Although local traffic is allowed, Montgomery still has no choice but to be stuck in traffic.
“When North Star Charter gets out, all of Linder gets backed up,” Mongomery said. She made the point that even if she uses Linder for local traffic, the backups are ridiculous.
“I think it is very annoying I have to go all the way around Linder to get anywhere,” Montgomery said. She either takes Linder to the light on State Highway 44 or weaves through the Legacy subdivision to get all the way to Floating Feather.
For some students, a detour is necessary considering many students of Eagle High must use Linder Road quite often to get to a main street like State Highway 44. The main options for a detour are either going all the way to Park Lane, past Eagle High, or going in the complete opposite direction and using Palmer Lane.
This extreme inconvenience will continue to affect Eagle High students until late into this semester.
