As the class of 2026 nears the end of the school year, they look back as their favorite things from when they were kids. From movies to brands, seniors enjoyed talking about their childhood memories. 

The popular things to watch on television when the seniors were children included the original Barbie movies, “Bubble Guppies”, “Wild Kratts”, “Power Rangers”, “Curious George” and Disney movies of any type. The most popular movies when seniors were three to five years old were “Tangled”, “Toy Story 3”, “Frozen” and even “How to Train Your Dragon”.  

Many 2026 seniors loved playing with the most popular toys at the time. American Girl dolls were one of the most popular toys for girls.  

“My favorite toys were Polly Pockets or Barbies,” said senior Sylvia Hansen. Furbies were also all the rage, with fun animatronic qualities. If kids wanted to play outside, there were always Razor Scooters or Heelys shoes. There were also all the fun outdoor games.   

As for activities, many students loved playing in parks and playgrounds. Even going to the lake or river was an enjoyable activity for seniors years ago. Playdates were a popular time to play all the most popular games, such as tag or even just traditional Hide and Seek.  

Many students loved all the popular brands at the time. Kids were wearing anything from Justice to The Gap.  

“My favorite brands were Roxy, Justice and Sketchers,” Hansen said. Some of most popular shoes were Sketchers and Twinkle Toes. These were sneakers that lit up when stomping on the ground.  

Overall, seniors enjoyed reflecting on the most popular toys and games from when they were kids.
