BPA stands for Business Professionals of America. It is a club here at Eagle High that provides students with experience and opportunities to practice business for their futures.
Senior Lincoln Swenson explained that BPA is, “a club that teaches people about business practices and prepares students for different careers based around business.” Swenson has been in BPA since his sophomore year and is now one of the club leaders.
BPA offers real-world experience. Currently, the members of BPA are working on a project. The students in the club are all given a business to create a business plan as well as pick a location for that business. It allows for the students to practice creating well thought-out business plans. Swenson’s current project is providing a business plan for an app focusing on mental health of kids and young adults.
BPA also competes in competitions. This Eagle High club has achieved many awards. The Global Marketing Team’s members last year were Audrey Baxter, Indie Taylor, Lincoln Swenson and Henry Rich. They got first place in a competition. The podcast production team last year had Aiden Niehaus, Isaac Kisielewski, Ryan Colvin and Hendric Voris. That team earned a second-place award. The competitions take place from late January to March. This upcoming year, Nationals are taking place in Nashville, Tennessee. Swenson also said that traveling with the club is super fun.

BPA is a great environment to grow in business experience. Swenson’s favorite part about BPA is the people and advisors.
“[Austin] Rogerson and [Joeseph] Gossi are pretty sweet advisors to have,” Swenson said. Rogerson and Gossi are the club advisors.
Being a member of BPA is an opportunity for any students wanting to have good exposure to business. It also looks great on college applications.
