As the school year starts to wrap up, the seniors at Eagle High have been thinking back on their previous school years and what made those years stand out. While some students remember the stress-free days before high school, others say their final year has been most rewarding.
“My favorite grade all my years in school has got to be senior year,” said senior Parker Bolton.
Bolton appreciates all the freedom that senior year comes with and was quick with giving his answer.
“If you maintain good grades, you don’t have advisory for either semester, so you have a longer lunch, which is so nice, especially since we are allowed to go off campus for lunch,” Bolton said.
To have a stress-free senior year, there are some precautions that students must face. If students are paying attention in class and maintaining good grades, it can make their senior year go more smoothly.
“I wish I paid more attention in my earlier years of high school, so I could have made my senior year super easy for myself,” Bolton said.
Although senior year comes with freedom and excitement, the thought of no longer being a child again makes students reminisce about old memories like being able to wake up every day and be a carefree kid.
“Preschool was the best grade because my life wasn’t serious yet and I had nothing to stress about,” said senior Alexa Osborne.
Osborne continued to talk about her favorite grade in high school, she was confident with her answer and agreed that senior year came with the most perks.
“If I had to choose from a year from high school then, yeah, senior year would definitely be my favorite since its so unserious and I pretty much never come to class because its so easy,” Osborne said.
While senior year is easy for Osborne, there are still some things she wished she had done a little differently.
“I wish I would’ve taken some of my classes more seriously in previous years, and I wish I would’ve applied to colleges earlier,” Osborne said. “And if I hadn’t procrastinated so much, I feel like I would’ve been a lot less stressed.”
Overall, students can recognize their mistakes from the past and learn from them. And though there are things they wish they could go back and change, they all seem excited about their final year of high school and agree that it has been the best year of their high school experience.
