Towards the end of year, music apps like Apple Music and Spotify have started to give listeners a report back of what they listened to. A carefully crafted presentation is given between the end of November and the start of December, each time with a new theme and design. This year-in-review includes a listener’s top songs, albums, artists and genres.
At Eagle High, students listen to many different genres and artists. Senior Rachel McLaren’s top song was “Revolving Door” by Tate McRae, who’s had a large rise in pop music this last year with her album “So Close to What?”.
“She was my top listened to artist as well,” McLaren said. She also attended her concert in October of 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
On the other side of the record, country music is a very popular genre here at Eagle High, with artists like Morgan Wallen, Ella Langley and Zach Bryan. Senior Lucy Martinez’s top song was “Traveler” by Chris Stapleton. Similarly, senior Bailey Robert’s top song was “I’ve Got Her” by Arlo McKinley.
Many students also enjoy older music, especially from the 1970s and 1980s. Senior Emilia DeFonte’s top song was “Going to California” by Led Zeppelin.
“I enjoy listening to older music rather than modern music,” DeFonte said.
Music is a very common way for people to connect. Being able to see what their most listened to music over the year is something students look forward to seeing. As more music apps adopt this end-of-year tradition, a “wrapped” will become something even more people will get to share with their family and friends.
