Holidays come and holidays go, but for many students their favorite festive treats and beverages stick throughout the years.
As the new year begins, stores wrap up the holiday aisles, and all the fun, festive treats disappear off the shelves, but they are not forgotten by Eagle High students.
Christmas is a short, yet busy, time of year, but festive treats tend to carry on in people’s minds and cravings throughout the year.
“My favorite festive food is peppermint bark because my family makes it every Christmas and I always look forward to it,” said junior Lauren Damiani.
Peppermint bark is one of the many foods that come out around the holidays that people enjoy. However, everyone has their own individual favorites.
According to Newsweek.com, “In a December survey of 1,000 Americans conducted for Newsweek by Talker Research, nearly half chose pumpkin pie when asked what they typically have for dessert during Christmas. That was followed by two other pie staples—apple pie and pecan pie as well as cake, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies.”
No matter what one’s personal favorite Christmas treat may be, it is obvious that Christmas and holiday treats are loved nationwide.
Some, however, don’t just like holiday treats; some also fancy holiday beverages. Holiday beverages offer a fun twist to the day and a refreshing sip of holiday spirit.
“My favorite festive food is Sprite Cranberry,” said junior Henry Bishop. “It is my favorite festive food because when I was a young lad, I saw the LeBron James commercial and instantly fell in love with Sprite Cranberry and un-ironically, it is my favorite holiday, festive and fun foodie drink.”
Regardless of what someone’s favorite festive food or beverage is, students at Eagle High, and people around the country have their favorites that they look forward to every holiday season.
