The iconic In-N-Out sign shines bright at night. Customers of the restaurant wait in long lines for a tasty meal.

The famous fast-food chain In-N-Out opened their first store in Idaho on December 12, 2023, in Meridian, Idaho. On opening day, the drive-through lines were up to eight hours long. Customers of the restaurant were camping outside of the location the night before opening in the cold winter weather of Meridian, Idaho. Even now, right around a month since the store opened, the lines are still constantly out of the doors. So, is In-N-Out worth the wait? Does it deserve the hype?

While an eight-hour wait is very excessive, many would not consider In-N-Out overrated. In-N-Out stores are always busy with many customers for a reason; the food is good. The restaurant has high quality and fresh ingredients that never fail to taste good. After interviewing people, many cannot recall an experience at In-N-Out where they were not satisfied with their food. They are consistently great.

“I think In-N-Out is not overrated. This is because their food is constantly tasty,” said sophomore Carter Ditlove.

The menu is simple and does not change, so customers can count on getting the same great food every time. While there are not a lot of options on the menu to pick from, what is provided is made to a high-quality standard. The menu consist of cheeseburgers, hamburgers, French fries, shakes and beverages.

“Every time I go to In-N-Out I get a cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate milkshake, and it never fails to satisfy me,” said sophomore Alexa Shannahan.

Many places in the USA do not have an In-N-Out. When people travel to places with an In-N-Out, many times visitors to the area will go and eat at the restaurant. This is because there is a different feeling when one eats at a place like In-N-Out that most other restaurants do not provide.

“Eating at In-N-Out makes me feel like I am a king and really puts life into perspective. It makes me want to never stop eating In-N-Out,” Ditlove said.

Many might say that a burger from In-N-Out is not worth an eight hour wait in a drive-thru line. People who say this can be correct, however, In-N-Out as a whole is not an overrated fast-food chain. If you ever want to be satisfied with a simple burger with some fries and a shake, go to In-N-Out.
