Eagle, Idaho has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the Treasure Valley according to real-estate-blog.com. Located just northwest of Boise, Eagle has undergone a surge in development, population and economic growth in the recent years.
“Traffic is a lot. It is obvious that Eagle has been growing over the last few years especially,” said senior Morgan Winters. “I believe it affects Eagle students and the community alike in certain circumstances.”
Eagle is undergoing a boom in development, with numerous new residential and commercial projects, and the ADA County Highway District has been actively working on several new road projects.
Downtown Eagle Mobility Improvements is a project that includes widening and improving Eagle Road between State Highway 44 and the canal. The Linder Road Project consisting of a five-lane expansion with a roundabout at the Floating Feather Intersection. The con of these projects is the construction phase. The Highway 44 closure is expected to be closed and under construction until early 2026.
According to IdahoStateman.com, “…the city has grown by 159.5% since 2000, making it one fastest growing city in Idaho. As of the latest data, the population stands at 32,319.”
Recent developments indicate that Eagle’s growth is not just in population but also in housing. A new project, the Sagehill subdivision is proposing to add 200 residential lots on 736 acres in Avimor.
“Avimor has always been a very isolated place, this new development is going to allow Avimor to become a more recognized and accessible area,” said senior Lucas Hampton.
Eagle’s demographics and future projections include a widely diverse community. A lot of Eagle is elderly with a low poverty rate in Eagle and surrounding areas.
According to biggestuscities.com, “Eagle’s demographic profile shows a diverse community, with a high percentage of the population being senior citizens (20.5% aged 65 or older) and a lower poverty rate of 5.0%.”
The city is expected to continue growing, driven by ongoing housing and community projects for new residents and existing.
