ABC has been going off the beaten path with new TV shows recently, and one show has managed to capture a high rate of new viewers. “High Potential” is becoming one of the biggest phenomenons in crime dramas.
This show had one of the biggest debuts since the medical drama “The Good Doctor” back in 2018. The series follows Kaitlin Olsen, as Morgan Gillory, a single mother that has an IQ of 160.
According to forbes.com, “She works as a cleaner for the LAPD until her brilliant mind proves invaluable in solving crimes. In return for her help, Major Crimes Lieutenant Selena Soto (played by Rudy Reyes) promises to investigate the disappearance of Morgan’s boyfriend, Roman, from 15 years ago.” The show follows her and her family as she takes up the mantle of crime solver extraordinaire and mother to three children, a teenager named Ava, an elementary school aged brother named Elliot and a baby sister named Chloe.
“High Potential” isn’t the only show that has this premise. The show is inspired by a French show of a similar title, “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel.” Season one started back in September of last year, and episode 14 (which is technically the start of season two for the series) is set to release for hopeful fans, by the fall of this year. Episode 13 left fans with a major cliffhanger and months to wait for the conclusion to this epic end.
From “Greys Anatomy” to “St. Dennis Medical” “Superstore”, ABC seems intent on giving viewers new and interesting content in terms of TV shows. Between balancing crime work, motherhood and her sanity, Gillory is going to have a lot on her plate going forward in season two. All new episodes air on ABC, or you can find them to stream on Hulu. Season one is already available.
