From old school classics to emotional dramas, Eagle High students have a very wide variety of favorites when it comes to movies and shows.
“My favorite movie has to be ‘School of Rock’,” said junior Elliot Orton, “And my favorite show would be ‘Psych’ because both of them are so funny and easy to watch.”
Both films are known for their humor, which shows that some students prefer to enjoy something non-serious after a long day.
“My favorite movie is ‘Waves’ since it is such a realistic movie and shows reality,” said junior Kyleigh Plaisted, “And ‘Never have I Ever’ is my favorite show because it is so funny.”
Plaisted enjoys a mix of two genres as “Waves” is a very serious and emotional movie, whereas “Never Have I Ever” is very funny and lighthearted. Students can watch different types of genres and still enjoy them even though they are completely different.
Junior Robert Campbell shared a more meaningful reason behind his favorite movie and said that his favorite movie is, “’Beautiful Boy’ because it helped me develop a better relationship with my parents.” For Campbell, movies aren’t just for entertainment, they can give real life lessons and meanings for people watching them.
“My favorite show would be ‘Scooby Doo’ since I grew up watching it and loved it ever since I was little,” Campbell said.
The sense of nostalgia while watching a show someone grew up watching can be comforting and another reason why a student would enjoy watching them.
Overall, Eagle High students are watching movies and shows that range from funny and lighthearted to serious and emotional. Whether they are watching for laughs, lessons or nostalgia, everyone seems to have something that they enjoy.
