As the spring season starts to roll in, so does the holiday of love, Valentine’s Day. The day is widely known as the day someone can spend with their significant other, but many of those who are not in relationships still want to celebrate too. Galantines day has started to gain more popularity and now many people who are even in relationships love to celebrate with their friends
“I would definitely prefer a Galantine’s Day party over a Valentine’s Day date any day,” said junior Nicola Forbess.
Forbess also shares how she always spends Valentine’s Day as a Galentine’s with all her friends and it is always a good time. It gives her a fun excuse to dress up and throw a little party.
“I don’t have a boyfriend, but I am not even that upset about it because that way I can spend the day with my friends instead,” Forbess said.
Forbess shared that she is going to spend the day baking, taking photos, watching movies and eating yummy snacks with her friends.
As fun as a Galantine’s Day party is, some students do prefer going out and hanging out with their partners to celebrate the romantic love they have for each other. They do this by usually going out to dinner or just spending quality time with one another.
“I am really looking forward to Valentine’s Day because this year, me and my boyfriend are going out to dinner and exchanging a few little gifts and its going to be really cute and fun,” said junior Leighton Archer.
Archer also said that although she loves hanging out with her friends, she prefers spending Valentine’s with the person she loves romantically. She continued that she can hangout with her friends anytime, but Valentine’s is special to her and her boyfriend.
No matter how someone decides to spend Valentine’s Day, it is always a good time and the main thing people should focus on is celebrating love.
