After many years of people wishing Raising Canes was closer, their wish has finally come true. On Nov. 18, Meridian, Idaho welcomed their very first of the chain restaurant. Raising Canes is a fast-food restaurant that is known for box combos which consists of chicken tenders, fries, toast and coleslaw. They are mainly located in southern states with Texas having over 160 locations.
According to www.kivtiv.com, the line for Raising Canes in Meridian was very long with some customers waiting for over 24 hours before the restaurant officially opened. The first customers reported waiting at 3:30 a.m. and were organized into numbered lanes to make sure they were served.
“I waited in line about an hour and 45 minutes, and then, it took another 15 minutes to get food,” said sophomore Kora Taylor.
Even students from Eagle high have been looking forward to the day that Raising Canes opened.
“I like eating at Canes because I think the environment is so fun, and the workers are so nice, but I do believe it is very overhyped,” Taylor said.
Many people have mixed opinions about if Raising Canes is as good as everyone makes it seem. Some people think it is the best chicken in the fast-food business and other people think that it is not all its made out to be.
“Yeah, it’s definitely overrated, but it is still good,” said senior Jackson Phillips.
Phillips continued to share that he enjoys eating chicken tenders, but does not think the restaurant deserves the attention that it gets when there are so many other good fast-food places that serve good chicken in the business.
Although Raising Canes receives a lot of attention from customers, it seems like the popular opinion of Eagle High students is that they were excited for it to open, but it is not as good as people make it seem.
