As the holiday season approaches, it can be hard for people to decide what gifts to give their friends and family, but the students at Eagle High have some pretty good ideas as to what the best gifts are.
Junior Drake Strand said that the types of gifts he is hoping to get this year for Christmas aren’t complicated. In fact, he prefers simpler gifts for the holidays.
“I don’t want anything crazy,” Strand said. “I just hope to get some clothes, Lego sets and money.”
The more simple gifts tend to be a commonality at Eagle High, Junior Sloane Leija said something similar to Strand by saying that she prefers gifts that aren’t too crazy.
“I honestly just want to get some new clothes, money to buy whatever I want and some new shoes,” she said.
Although students hope to get the simpler gifts, the gifts they are giving others tell a different story. Strand said that he plans to give gifts that are unique to who he gives them to this year.
“Depending on who it is, I’ll probably get my friends some sports gear and gift cards since they’re into that type of stuff,” he said. “But for my family members, I’ll get them some cooking supplies since they like to cook a lot.”
With many people buying gifts for one and other this holiday season, a struggle they may run into is buying a gift for someone who is hard to shop for. Leija said that the most reliable gift to give in this situation, particularly with girls is not too complicated.
“I usually get them a simple tank top, jewelry or a gift card from Starbucks or Dutch Bros if it’s someone who is usually picky with what they want,” said Leija.
Strand said that he has one thing that is his go to gift for people who are hard to shop for.
“I always get people money if they’re picky, so they can go buy whatever they want with it,” he said.
Where people end up purchasing gifts from can be a challenge for some as well. There are many websites and stores to pick from, but Strand said that one in particular covers everything he needs.
“I order gifts from Amazon just because they have anything you need whether it’s clothes, sports gear or even stuff like iPads,” he said
Leija takes a different route when it comes to where she orders from. She chooses to buy from specific stores.
“I always buy from Brandi Melville, Urban Outfitters, Francescas or Target for gifts because I feel like with those stores you can get whatever you need,” she said.
Giving gifts during the holidays may be challenging, but it’s always nice to have some ideas of where to buy from and what to buy for family and friends in order to give them a good Christmas gift.
