Thanksgiving dinner may be one of the most anticipated meals of the year for many people, but it is also one of the most debated. While turkey has been known as the best Thanksgiving course for centuries, some students beg to differ.
According to bradleysfinediner.com, “approximately 88% of Americans chow down on turkey during Thanksgiving festivities.”
Although statistics show that turkey is the main excitement of Thanksgiving, junior Adline Cranford has a different view.
“Turkey is overrated. Stuffing is the best Thanksgiving meal by far.” Said Crawford, “My family aren’t big meat fans.”
Cranford prefers a hot bowl of stuffing to be her main dish on Thanksgiving. Mashed potatoes are another favorite of hers when celebrating with her family.

“My grandma has made mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving since I was little, it’s the best.” said Cranford.
Senior Payton Wolf shares similar opinions as Cranford when it comes to Thanksgiving dishes.
“Mashed potatoes are my favorite; my stepmom makes very good ones,” said Wolf.
Wolfs’ favorite delicacy on Thanksgiving has been mashed potatoes ever since she was little and she can’t imagine a Thanksgiving meal without it.
On the other hand, some students feel that turkey is the best dish, and no other meals compare.
“Turkey is by far the best part about Thanksgiving; I look forward to it every year,” said junior Sofie Biaz. “it’s my favorite food we eat that day.”
Biaz believes that Turkey is the signature dish of Thanksgiving.
Whether stuffing and mash potatoes is considered the best, or turkey, it is guaranteed that families will be eating delicious food on Thanksgiving. Nov. 27 is the one day of the year where food brings family together, no matter which meal satisfies cravings.
