Senior Alaina Tiner demonstrates excellence both inside and outside of Eagle High. As a student athlete, she maintains grades and balances extracurricular activities. Tiner has become increasingly involved at the school with each year she attends. She participates in sports, clubs and college classes.
This school year, Tiner joined the Eagle High cheer team. After coming from the background of gymnastics, she thought cheer could be a great fit. Tiner became great friends with her teammates and enjoys cheering on the sidelines every football game.
“I love the team aspect. Everyone is working together all towards the same goal,” Tiner said.
Tiner maintains a 4.02 weighted GPA, and has taken many rigorous concurrent credit courses, including AP Calculus, AP U.S. History and AP Physics I. She excels in math and science classes, but enjoys taking unique electives to discover what she is interested in.
Her favorite class has been Intro to Criminal Justice, and she believes the field is something she would be interested in going into for a career.
“I loved criminal justice because I love to solve problems. Finding out about a case and trying to figure out the details, whether that be how long their sentence should be or how the police should respond appropriately,” Tiner said. Both her parents are police officers, so she has always been close to the field. Her goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and eventually join the FBI.
Tiner is also involved in clubs here at Eagle High. Her junior year she participated in the National Honors Society (NHS). She gave back to the community by donating, volunteering and raking leaves. This year, she is a leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Here she shares the gospel with her friends from church.
“I am one of the leaders in FCA. Everyone works together to plan lunch meetings, food, content and other events outside of school such as worship nights. My title is events planner,” Tiner said.
Tiner has built many connections during her time here at Eagle High, making friends with students and teachers, participating in events and sports and sharing her beliefs. While excited to graduate, she is glad to have left a mark on Eagle High.
