As the volleyball season carries on, the Mustangs stay in the competition and are ready to fight their way through State.
Eagle High Volleyball is one of the many fall sports wrapping up their season. A lot has happened for the Eagle High volleyball team this season, which was an eventful season full of teamwork and perseverance.
The team just finished their District tournament on Oct. 22 and are headed to the State tournament on Oct.13. The Mustangs took Districts by storm. Both the JV and sophomore teams emerged as District champions; varsity didn’t earn the District title but fought hard as a team to be able to qualify for the Idaho 6A State tournament.
“Both our JV team and sophomore team got first place in Districts, and our varsity team was able to qualify for State,” said junior Evelyn Dwyer.
In addition to Districts, the team also recently celebrated their six graduating seniors for senior night, on their last regular season home game. The Mustangs took on Boise High and won their senior night game 3-2 in a heated match.
The Mustangs have shown time and time again that hard work, dedication and team bonding can lead to success. No matter win or loss, the Mustangs have a great connection and love playing together.

“Our team’s success has came from so many players’ willingness to want to improve and never give up,” said senior Madi Ruport.
The players express their love for the coaches and players apart of the Eagle High Volleyball program.
“Overall our volleyball season was fun,” Ruport said “I loved being able to play with all my teammates at all our local tournaments, but especially at our away ones.”
With State coming up, the Mustangs are in full preparation mode. They hope to perform the best they have all season and are practicing hard to hopefully do so.
“Our team did pretty good at Districts and it’s going to be exciting to see if we can continue that momentum into state,” Ruport said.
The players are confident going into State and the entire Volleyball program is cheering varsity on as they prepare to.
“I think the varsity team is going to play really well at State. Hopefully they can pull some good wins and play well,” Dwyer said.
No matter the outcome at State, the Mustangs have had a remarkable season full of teamwork and perseverance. Not matter the score, the Mustangs stuck together and fought hard from the beginning of the season until now.
