As Halloween quickly approaches, Treasure Valley’s famous Haunted World has geared up for weeks of terror, and students couldn’t be more excited. Haunted World is Idaho’s largest haunted attraction, combining indoor and outdoor scares for an all-time horror experience. Since the year 2000, this iconic destination has been a fall tradition for locals, especially Eagle High students.
Opening the weekend of Sept. 13, Haunted World displayed fresh attractions along with the classic spine-chilling scenes that have made it a staple of the Halloween season. With a reputation for pushing boundaries and offering 40 acres of terror, the attraction includes experiences ranging from haunted cornfields, a clown room and the terrifying maze. Every fall, students run to Haunted World, ready to confront a fresh set of fears.
Haunted World has always been a favorite among students around the Treasure Valley, many students plan their visits weeks in advance, making sure to attend on opening weekend, hallo-weekend or whenever suits them.
“I went on opening weekend and it was amazing. It’s always been one of my favorite parts of fall, and I’ll definitely go again before Halloween,” said junior Kaylynne Rice.
Tickets for the attraction are a little pricey, sitting at $30 a ticket which offers a testimony to its reputation. Haunted World stays open late, 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends, which could not be more perfect for students looking to get a late-night spook.
“Haunted World is so much fun. I went last year with friends, and it was really scary. I would recommend it to people who don’t get scared easily,” said junior Lila Weber.
For those looking to test their courage, Haunted World offers the ideal mix of fun and fear. Whether someone is an experienced horror fan or just in it for the experience, this haunted attraction is guaranteed to leave a lasting Halloween memory. With new surprises lurking in the shadows each fall, Haunted World continues to evolve, keeping students and locals coming back for more annually.
