An ongoing trend is starting at Eagle High where students enjoy fidgeting with toys. Students have found new ways to relieve stress and increase focus and productivity. Squishies, NeeDohs and slime are all the rave right now.

NeeDoh is a brand that produces soft and squishy sensory toys. They have various shapes, colors, sizes and textures. A NeeDoh can serve multiple purposes.
Sophomore Gemma Lebeau is known for using them as stress relivers.
“I have a basket full of NeeDohs; I call it my ‘Stim Bin,’” Lebeau said. She recommends buying NeeDohs online, at Toy Town or at Walmart.
“My favorite NeeDoh is the Wildcat NeeDoh,” Lebeau said. The Wildcat NeeDoh is a vibrant squishy with a soft and fuzzy exterior, shaped like a cat, with a dough-like interior. After it is squished, it slowly returns to its original shape.
Senior Ella Elordi is obsessed with NeeDohs as well. She keeps them with her at all times.
“When we play with our NeeDohs we call it stimming. I have two NeeDohs, I use them 24/7,” she said.
Students at Eagle High have picked up a new slang term, “stim.” It is short for stimulation, which references the need to relieve stress or anxiety with sensory toys.
“I don’t have a NeeDoh, but I use other fidgets to stay focused in class,” said senior Dylan Frothinger.
NeeDohs are more than just a toy, they have become a tool and coping mechanism. With the constant stress and struggle focusing that students have, fidgeting can be the solution to relaxation and productivity.
