At Eagle High, there are many ways students can spend their time and attention. Hanging out with friends is a great choice. That’s why Sources of Strength hosted a school photo booth.
Sources of Strength, or SOS, is an international organization focused on providing resources to improve people’s mental and physical well-being. The main pillars of SOS include physical health, mental health, mentors, spirituality, generosity, healthy activities and family support.
To focus on positive friends, SOS at Eagle High decided to host a photo booth.
“For the month of February, the focus is on positive friends,” said sophomore Landon Davesis. “The photo booth lets you take a picture with a positive friend to highlight the importance of friendship and how it can help you.” The photo booth was available from February 12th to 13th and took place in the gym foyer.
SOS aims to support one or more of their main values every month. So, the photo booth wasn’t the only opportunity for students to try something new.
There are many ways students can learn about SOS, its mission, and the resources it offers.
“We have about 32 peer leaders in this school who are Sources of Strength members. They’re pretty open about saying who they are. We also try to put a video out on the announcements each month, and students can come talk to me or visit the website,” said teacher Sarah Richens. Richens has been the teacher for Sources of Strength for two years now and helps the activities of SOS.
SOS at Eagle High provides students with valuable opportunities to connect, grow and support each other. The photo booth was just one of many ways they foster positive relationships and promote mental wellbeing. Students always have the option to get involved and take advantage of these resources available to them.
