Tree City Travelers are an indie, bluegrass band from right here in the Treasure Valley composed of five members. Eagle High’s very own teacher Nathan Vital plays the banjo for the band.
“A band that mixes traditional bluegrass which is stuff from like the 50s and 60s with kinda a more modern take on some of that style.” Vital said, when asked to describe the band.
Currently, the band has three albums, with more possible down the line. The band plays local venues and smaller festivals, and the band plans to ask for logos and designs from the Eagle High graphic design team for new and interesting merch for the band.
“Really I just asked the graphic design class to kinda see what other ideas that they might have,” Vital said. The class has been working with sports teams and personal brands throughout Eagle to deliver high quality graphics.
The band loves playing for smaller local venues and has no plans to go mainstream as of yet.
“If we have a good show, we’ll have between 200-300 people, and that’s like a pretty decent sized show. But a lot of times, we’ll play for these smaller venues that we really actually enjoy that intimacy level of it,” Vital said “We’re not necessarily interested in playing stadium show. But you know, if we ever got to that level, that would be fun, certainly.”
All of their songs, current and former, are able to be found on Spotify, Apple Music or wherever students listen to music. Tree City Travelers are just one of the many Idaho based bands, and students should be excited to find more from them in the future.
