A very important part of high school for many students at Eagle High is their regular attendance at local concert venues located here in the Treasure Valley. A few popular local music venues include The Shrine Social Club, The Shredder, the Knitting Factory and Treefort Music Hall. These local venues keep a constant stream of alternative, country, and rock bands flowing through them. The Treasure Valley has created a hub through which these musicians and fans can connect. Through the last twenty years, as the Boise area has grown, the said area has established a vibrant music scene.
An integral part of the Boise area is Treefort Music Fest. Treefort Music Fest was first held in March 2012. This festival has since grown significantly and made a lasting impact. This year the festival has an exciting lineup of local bands as well as larger touring artists that keep finding themselves drawn towards this iconic music event. This event draws people towards Boise, bringing crowds of music lovers.
The success of this festival has led to the opening of aforementioned venue Treefort Music Hall. This year Treefort Music Fest falls between March 25 to March 29.
“It is always a good time to go to concerts with friends. I highly recommend people check out shows in town,” said senior Carter Bailey.
Bailey attends concerts very consistently. In the last two months he has attended indie bands such as The Moss when they had a show at The Shredder, Arcy Drive when they played at the Shrine Social Club, and he took a trip down to Salt Lake City to attend the Back Seat Lovers concert.
“The older I get, the more concerts I go to see. I have been to a lot of concerts and venues, but the Boise area probably has some of my favorite venues. I try to go to as many concerts as possible,” said senior Brooke Bondi.
Bondi is another avid concert attendee. She regularly attends concerts in the Treasure Valley and beyond.
These venues and concerts have a very diverse range of concerts coming up. The increase in concerts and venues coincides with the growth of the Treasure of Valley, and there is no sign of slowing down in the near future.
