Following a common tradition, seniors Sicily Smith and Jake Longson went on senior trips with their families. Smith went in the fall and Longson went during spring break. They spent a week enjoying time with family and learning about what the country has to offer and enjoying their special trip before heading off to adulthood.

“For my senior trip, I went with my mom, dad and sister to a few cities in Italy and Paris. It was so cool to see the beauty of these cities and get to tour them,” Smith said. “My favorite part was riding Vespas all around the countryside of Venice and the Amalfi Coast. Another part I loved was all the good food. Eating pasta everyday was a dream come true.”

There are so many beautiful sites and so much history in Italy and France. Smith enjoyed all the quality time and food that happened on her trip. Beauty can be found all over the world, Longson saw this while in Iceland.

“I went to Iceland for my trip with my whole family and there was eight of us. Some things we did was visited a Viking temple, saw the northern lights, got to see super cool waterfalls and so much more,” Longson said. “My favorite thing we did was at the end of the trip we went on an excursion that took us to glaciers and ice caves which was super cool. Another favorite thing that happened that was exciting was my sister’s boyfriend proposed to her on top of a mountain.”

Smith and Longson enjoyed this amazing opportunity to see the beauty of other countries. The memories that were created on their trips will be cherished forever between them and their families. Graduating high school is a big deal, and Smith and Longson felt the love and excitement that their families have for them going into their next journey while on their trips.
