Skiers Slide Into Local Ski Resorts

The Idaho ski and snowboard season is in full swing. Ski resorts all over Idaho are open for business as winter slowly approaches. Tamarack, Bogus Basin and Brundage have been working on cat tracks, terrain parks and maintaining runs.

Local ski slopes are opening soon. With three resorts including Brundage, Tamarack and Bogus Basin within two and a half hours from each other and the heart of Boise. These three mountains can be great locations for the next shred session. 

Bogus Basin is located 40 minutes from Boise, Idaho.  

 Bogus offers 91 runs and over 2,600 acres of ski terrain,” According to The Arbiter. Bogus Basin has a lift for one of any level. The resort offers anything from the magic carpet to Superior Express and Pine Creek Express chairlifts, with runs like their double black diamonds including Liberty Trees and Inspiration. 

According to Bogus Basin, the resort offers world-class groomed runs, powder, and freestyle terrain. Explore miles of lift serviced snowboarding and alpine skiing.

Bogus also offers ski-in/ski-out condos with easy access to hiking, mountain biking and other mountain activities right out the doorstep.  

Brundage Mountain is a 1,920-acre ski lift run resort with access to 18,000 acres of backcountry. Located only 10 miles from McCall, Idaho and only two hours and 26 minutes from Boise, Idaho.  

According to Brundage Idaho, Brundage receives an annual average of 320 base inches of snow and a summit elevation of 7,803 feet. 

Brundage ski resort offers 46 ski trails, serviced by five ski lifts including a high-speed quad and four triple chairlifts. The resort offers trails for every level of experience, with 32 black diamond runs and a magic carpet. Two terrain parks, an advanced park called the Jammer and the beginner terrain park, the Bear sit near the bottom of the mountain accessible a the bottom of most runs. 

Brundage offers more than skiing with easy access to snowshoeing and snowmobiling.  

Tamarack Ski Resort is an hour 45-minute drive from Boise, Idaho.  

According to Tamarack Resort, Tamarack has 1,385 skiable acres for skiers and snowboarders, along with trails to mountain bike, zipline, hiking and whitewater rafting. 

“I really like Tamarack, it has a lot of open terrain, with good backcountry. It usually gets a lot of good snow,” said sophomore Brayden Lame.  

Tamarack features vacation rental cabins, condos and homes for rent or purchase. 

Tamarack seems to be a favorite to the students of Eagle High.  

“Tamarack is the best ski resort in the area. It has a great park, and it is only an hour 45-minute drive from Boise,” said sophomore Grayson Bruch. 

All three of these local ski slopes offer something great for the next ski trip. They are currently open for the season.
