The 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament delivered exhilarating moments and unexpected outcomes, leaving the Florida Gators as the National Champions defeating the Houston Cougars.

This year’s tournament was historic, with all four NO.1 seeds- Florida, Houston, Auburn and Duke advancing to the final four. This marked the first time in tournament history for this to happen.

The championship game was a clash of two titans, with Florida’s high-powered offense facing Houston’s top-ranked defense. Despite Houston’s defense and 35-4 record, Florida managed to showcase their offensive power led by guard Walter Clayton Jr.

The dominance of No.1 seeds in the final four led to many successful bracket predictions.

According to MarketWatch.com, “AI powered brackets performed exceptionally well, with both OpenAI and ChatGPT predicting three of the final four teams, this highlights the increasing influence of artificial intelligence in sports forecasting.”

Many students at Eagle High engaged in these bracket challenges.

“I had Florida going all the way in my bracket, but I didn’t expect all the No.1 seeds to make it to the final four. It was exciting to see a lot of my predictions come true,” said sophomore Sam Palfreyman.

The tournament also saw significant financial gain. Sports betting reached a record $3.1 billion, according to Times.com. with favored teams consistently winning, which brought large amounts of people to sports books.

With the conclusion of the 2025 March Madness tournament, fans and analysts alike reflect on a season that not only met but exceeded expectations, setting a high bar for future tournaments.
