This past NFL season has been nothing short of chaotic. Players, controversies, penalties, and Taylor Swift, again. Now, with the Super Bowl in the past, let us see how this season went, and what fans can look forward to next season.
Over the course of this season, the Kansas City Chiefs have been the head of many problems in the NFL, not limited to the fact that many have called out the referees for being biased in their treatment of the team.
Even Tom Brady, often called ‘One of the greatest players of all time’, weighed in on the situation, telling NFL reporters that, “Offensive players need to protect themselves. When quarterbacks become running backs and they’re out of the pocket, they should lose their protection. In essence, we’re trying to say: ‘We’re trying to protect the quarterbacks.’ But coaches are calling more quarterback runs than ever in the history of the game. So, who’s protecting the quarterback?”.
That is a good question to ask, as Patrick Mahomes has stepped up his running skills in these last few games as he races out of the pocket to secure win after win. The NFL community at large is tired of Mahomes and his bragging arrogance, though thankfully this year, the Philadelphia Eagles, manned by quarterback Jaylen Hurts won the Super Bowl this season, 40 to 22.
Most NFL fans were grateful that they didn’t have to deal with insufferable aftermath if Kansas City won. Now that the season is over, players and fans have time to rest and recover before the next season starts again.
Notable things to mention that happened in this game is that President Donald Trump was there, making him the first sitting president to show up to the Super Bowl. Taylor Swift was there, and the cameras reminded those watching several times.
Trump left the game before the halftime show. The halftime show this year was hosted by Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar, with an appearance by another artist, SZA. He also had Samuel Jackson make an appearance on the national stage. Many online were super hyped about the show, especially after he played some of his most popular songs of the last few years, including “Not Like Us”, “TV Off” and “Euphoria”.
