The Eagle High Percussion is, and has always been, a huge part of school spirit. They recently took home the win at the WGI World Percussion Championship. Whether they are playing in football games or being the star of the show during their competitions, they strive for their best for Eagle High.
“We went in there. We did our job,” said junior Parker Greason in an interview on kititv.com. “It was a great feeling to be able to come back with that victory.”
The Eagle High Percussion Ensemble won the WGI World Percussion Championship in Ohio on April 11 through 13 and April 18 through 21, for separate rounds of competition, with months of practice and planning leading up to those dates.
The person responsible for creating the routines and synthesizing everything is the band director TJ Eriksen who is also the head of the band department at Eagle High. Percussion director Rob Sullens, along with percussion staff members Sean Killarney and Luis Manjarrez also worked with the ensemble.
“We walked out of the Nutter Center in Dayton, and we are looking at our recap,” said Eriksen in an interview kititv.com. “I look, and we are in first place in our division.”
The following are all the members of the Eagle High Percussion Team:
