It’s Time to Get Ready for the Delicious Smells of Fall

Fall is here and many treats are packed with pumpkin spice and all that is nice. These pumpkin cupcakes will bring fall right into your kitchen this season.

Every year when the leaves start to fall and the breeze gets a little chillier, recipe books are brought out of the cabinets and the cooking begins. The smell of cinnamon, pumpkin spice and vanilla fill kitchens, letting everyone know that fall is here.

“I love baking but something about baking pumpkin cookies in the fall makes me so happy,” said junior Natalya Smith. Smith loves to bake but she expresses that baking in the fall is her favorite season to bake. There are thousands of fall recipes out there in the world but these are some of the best.

The following are three of the best fall recipes:

Apple Pie Cupcakes with Cinnamon Buttercream:

  • one package yellow cake mix (regular size)
  • two tablespoons butter
  • four medium tart apples, peeled and finely chopped (about 4 cups)
  • three-fourths cup packed brown sugar.
  • one tablespoon cornstarch
  • one tablespoon water

 

Apple Pie Cupcakes with cinnamon Buttercream (frosting):

  • one cup butter, softened.
  • three cups confectioners’ sugar
  • two tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • one teaspoon vanilla extract
  • one and a half teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Thinly sliced apples, optional

 

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

  • one package yellow cake mix (regular size)
  • a half a cup quick-cooking oats
  • two and a half teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • one can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
  • one large egg, room temperature
  • two tablespoons canola oil

 

Pumpkin Spice Cookies (frosting):

  • three cups confectioners’ sugar
  • one teaspoon grated orange zest
  • three to four tablespoons orange juice

 

Cranberry Pecan Pie

  • one package yellow cake mix (regular size)
  • a half cup quick-cooking oats
  • two and a half teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • one can (fifteen ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
  • one large egg, room temperature
  • two tablespoons canola oil

 

Cranberry Pecan Pie (frosting):

  • three cups confectioners’ sugar
  • one teaspoon grated orange zest
  • three to four tablespoons orange juice
