Eagle High clubs are in full swing.

November News Briefs

Academic Decathlon  

The Academic Decathlon team is preparing for their Invitational competition coming up. The theme this year is the America Revolution. They are always accepting new members. 

ASL 

The club still meets on Tuesday B-Days during lunch. They just finished their game night. Over 60 students showed up from around the Treasure Valley using ASL to have fun playing games.  The club is going to have fundraiser soon to make money to buy Christmas presents for deaf families in need.  

Band 

Currently band is transitioning from a marching to symphonic style of playing and are working on learning Christmas music. They are also beginning to learn pep band tunes to play at basketball games. 

Chess Club 

The club is always open to new members, and they have teachers to support and teach all members how to play a better game. 

Debate 

On Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, there is a full debate at Columbia High. On Nov. 11 and Nov. 12, there is another full debate at Meridian High. 

GSA 

On Nov. 30, the club will be having lunch in teacher Sarah Schults’ room, S113. On Dec. 7, there will be a topic and discussion in teacher David Shanks’ room, S209. On Dec. 14, in S209 there will be a lunch and a Christmas activity.  

HOSA 

The club attended the Eagle High Trunk or Treat. 

Key Club 

Key Club delivered the Butter Braids that they sold, and they will be volunteering at the City of Eagle’s Country Christmas event in December. They will also be selling candy cane grams to the students of Eagle High. 

National Honor Society 

In National Honors Society, members are volunteering for both school and community events, working to get their hour requirements met. They are looking forward to potentially doing a toy drive for children in need during the holiday season. 

Ski and Snowboard Club 

Ski & Snowboard club met on Nov. 9 and are planning on having a “call-athon” where students will call and ask for donations to help sponsor the team trip to Big Sky in February. The club will also be doing some other fundraisers as the season progresses.
