As Halloween approaches, students’ excitement levels and sweet tooths increase. Candy is a big part of Halloween, and students seem to know exactly what they like.
From crunchy chocolate to chewy fruity candies, students have favorites when it comes to Halloween candy as they patiently await all the Halloween festivities to begin.
Some students favor chocolate halloween candies. Chocolate candies come in many forms and are very popular around Halloween and all year long.
“I love all chocolate candies, but Snickers are the best halloween candy,” said junior Drake Strand.
Strand is not a fan of fruity or chewy candies but loves chocolate candies. He feels that these candies lack flavor and are gross.
“Dots are the worst halloween candy because they taste stale and have no flavor and are just gross,” he said.
Although Strand is not a fan Dots or any chewy or fruity candy, other students like those types of candies.
“My favorite candy is fruity Tootsie Rolls because I have always liked them sense childhood” said junior Leighton Archer “they give me nostalgia”.
Halloween is a very nostalgic holiday for Archer and lots of other students. Sometimes students like Archer my have the same favorite Halloween candy they did as a child.
Like Strand, Archer also has a candy that she is not fond of. She is not a fan of anything waxy.
“Liquorish is the worst Halloween candy because it is really waxy and has a weird taste,” she said.
Despite differences in candy preferences, students are excited that the spooky season is here. Halloween is different for everyone but a very popular holiday among many students. Halloween is on a Friday this year and students are hoping to have a fun weekend.
