This event is hosted on the football field at Eagle High. Powderpuff happened on Sept. 17 at 7:00 p.m. this year.
The game happens each year because time and time again participant turnout rates remain high. Powderpuff is a creative idea bringing students from each grade together to reshape social norms by breaking down walls built by grade levels.
“It was super fun to be able to get to play with all my friends and work together to make memories,” said junior Addy Mingura. “I am so glad I did it because it is a great feeling when we win or get a touchdown and even funnier to listen to the boys cheer us on.”
During this powderpuff game, all the grades were very competitive, but in the end, there was one winner. The students all rocked out at this game, but the freshman team prevailed, taking home the title of 2025 champions.
“It was fun, and it was a cool experience to play. It made me realize how much effort goes into football,” said junior Sloane Leija.
Despite being the underdogs with a large age disadvantage, the freshman team used teamwork and raw talent to outshine their upperclassmen peers. This ultimately shows no matter how young one is, they can always show out and show the older class they have the same skill and motivation.
