Drinks such as pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider and maple cold brews are all flavors that are associated with autumn. Many people anxiously await all year for these drinks to come out.
“I personally prefer seasonal fall drinks over the regular drinks at coffee shops because I love pumpkin flavor so much. It’s my favorite,” said junior Maecy Page.
The warmth and nostalgia of the fall flavors are another factor that plays into popularity. Every time someone drinks a seasonal flavor, they are reminded of the previous years. No matter if someone likes or dislikes the drinks, there is no denying that fall has the most popular flavors of all the other seasons.
“I think that the fall menu should be released on like Sept 15 probably and last until Nov 15 and then they can switch to the Christmas menu drinks,” Page said.
Every year, there is a nationwide debate on when the fall menu should be released. While some believe it should be dropped in mid to late August, others believe it shouldn’t come out until September or even October when the weather gets colder.
“My favorite drink from the fall menu is a Starbucks cold brew with pumpkin cold foam and I get one probably once or twice a week,” Page said.
Coffee shops like Starbucks and Dutch Bros are a big hit for the season. According to purewow.com, the most popular drink from Starbucks fall menu is a pumpkin cream chai and Dutch Bros is the caramel pumpkin brulée.
