Many students had a memorable Homecoming weekend. From spirit week to the game to the dance, Homecoming 2025 was one to remember.
Even though Homecoming was Sept. 20, people began asking their dates early. On Aug. 26, senior Carter Bailey asked senior Sarah Kemp to Homecoming with a Crumbl Cookie themed sign. Many other students were creative with their asks as well.

During the week, many students showed their school spirit by dressing up according to the theme.
“I love school spirit,” said junior Emily Mcallister, and she proved that statement by going all out for spirit week, including stealing her dad’s clothes for Adam Sandler day.
On Sept. 19, there was a school wide assembly. People from all grades piled into Eagle High’s gymnasium. The assembly included performances from the cheerleaders, the dance team and, surprisingly, a students vs. teachers dance battle. The teachers emerged victorious after a dance to “Baby” by Justin Beiber. Later, during the assembly, Homecoming royalty was announced, which is the highlight of the assembly. The assembly finished with a message from head football coach James Clufph, who helped hype students up and get them to the football game that night.
Later that evening, at 7:00 p.m., the most exciting football game of the year kicked off. The student section was packed shoulder to shoulder with students dressed in white for the iconic white-out theme of the Homecoming game. At half-time there was a parade for teams and clubs on campus. After that, the white-out theme came into play for the half-time chalk throw, a part of every Homecoming game.
The game started with a Boise High field goal, but Eagle High quickly got it back and ended up destroying Boise High with a final score of 49 to 17. Boise High wasn’t thrilled, but it put Eagle High in high spirits.
The next day, Sept. 20, was the big day: Homecoming 2025. Many students spent the whole day doing Homecoming related activities. Some students went on day dates before the dance and even hung out after. The most common plan seems to be day date, get ready, take photos, dinner, dance and finally an after party.
A popular thing to do the day of the dance is a day date. A day date is when groups that are going together hang out and do other activities before dinner and the dance. Junior Charlotte Darmody had, “brunch with the girls.” She and her friends went to brunch and built their bouquets together before their plans with their dates later that day.
The dance’s theme this year was “Golden Hour”. The decorations did not disappoint. Mcallister said she, “really liked the decorations.” The courtyard outside the football stadium was lit up with gold lights and decorations. Mcallister also said she had a lot of fun because, “They played line dances like ‘Footloose’ and ‘Cotton Eye Joe’.” The dance was a hit this year, enjoyed by many students. Some students, however, never ended up at the dance at all.

A lot of students decided to do something else to have fun besides the dance. Some went to a movie, a party or even straight home. Darmody and her group went back to her house to watch a movie projected onto her barn.
No matter what the students did, Homecoming was an exciting and memorable weekend.
