Enjoying good music during changing seasons in the months of September and October is a joy to experience. Students anticipate the thrill of concerts and try to make time to attend these events despite the inconvenience of staying up late on school nights. Some artists, like Benson Boone and Nick Mateyunas might be making the late concert nights worth it.
In the month of September, there are a variety of artists performing live. Whether it’s at small venues downtown, or larger arenas a short drive away, the excitement around fall concerts is real.
Benson Boone has been producing plenty of popular music lately. His songs show up often on social media, playlists and even school dances.
“The Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena American Heart Tour concert was definitely a highlight. The whole atmosphere of the concert with the light shows and confetti was super fun,” said senior Avery Bennet.
His recent concert in Las Vegas on Sept 26 had a mix of slow songs and upbeat ones, keeping the crowd engaged all night.
“I especially liked when he sang American Heart, “Bennet said.
Other artists have also been grabbing students’ attention. Some go to see performances by artists that are highly popular, while others check out newer acts like Arcy Drive. The Sept 23 concert at Shrine Social Club in Boise, Idaho got a lot of attention from students at Eagle High.

“It was an insane concert because I actually ended up getting up on the stage and playing for the audience at the end of the show. I ran into the lead singer, Nick Mateyunas and he offered to let me play guitar at the concert,” said senior Bennet Blodgett.
“I didn’t know any of the chords on the guitar, so I looked them up and memorized them before I got called up. Mateyunas gave me his Stratocaster Guitar to play, and I crowd surfed off the stage,” Blodgett said.
October and September feature a diverse selection of concerts on the calendar. Students agree that while it’s not always easy balancing school with late-night shows, the memories are worth it.
“Late nights are a given with concerts, but the experiences you make are some of the best you’ll ever make,” Bennett said.
Any new concerts can be found on Ticketmaster as the fall season continues. Whether it’s a favorite artist or a surprise performance, music brings students together during these cooler fall months.
