Swimming through the depths of a heavy class load and two sports junior year, nothing can stop her strive.
Junior doing two sports and balancing school seems hard, but Forbess sets the bar high.
“I am the on the varsity swim team,” Forbess said. “I hope to be on varsity softball this spring going into my third year.”
Forbess has played softball at Eagle High since her freshman year. In addition to this, she plays club softball outside of school. Softball is a big part of Forbess’s life and one of her biggest passions.
Forbess not only has found a passion in softball, but she has also made long-lasting connections along the way. She loves the friends that she has made form playing softball at Eagle High. Her friends also help to motivate her to do her best.
“The friends I have from sports motivate me to show up to practice and get better,” Forbess said.
In addition to softball, Forbess is also on the swim team at Eagle. She has been doing swim for two years and was excited to be on varsity this fall. Swimming is an individual sport that pushes Forbess to have to work to her full potential.
“Swimming is a very individual sport. I have to want to show up to practice to get better,” Forbess said. “I don’t have to, which gives me a challenge.”

Both swimming and Softball are big parts of Forbess day to day life. Sometimes Forbess find it hard to balance both, but she remembers it is possible when she reflects on all the people she has as role models.
“I look up to my past teammates who have graduated because I have learned form them and they have helped me become a better athlete,” Forbess said.
Forbess is an exceptional athlete, but also an exceptional student. Forbess is taking on four AP classes and three college classes. She is always challenging herself in the classroom to ensure she is the best student she can be.
Forbess’s class load and motivation to perform well in school is a result of her goal driven mindset. Goals are very important to Forbess and help her to strive to become a better student and athlete.
Two Sports and a rigorous class schedule are time consuming. However, Forbess doesn’t let this stop her strive.
“I manage my time so I can do all my homework in between school and practices,” she said.
Forbess try’s her best to be both a good student and athlete. Because of time management, goals setting, motivation and passion Forbess balances both school and two sports well. The intensity of her schedule and sports commitments doesn’t ease up any time soon for Forbess, but she doesn’t plan on slowing down. Forbess strives to be one of Eagle High’s great athletes and students.
