Senior Sunrise is a tradition that Eagle High started last year. The class of 2026 met up this year at Kliner Park in Meridan to watch the sunrise on the hill overlooking the amphitheater. It often happens in the beginning of the year and signifies the sun rising on the seniors final year in high school.
Aug. 16 felt cold, especially for 6:20 in the morning, and plenty of seniors woke up as early as 4:30 am to be able to get ready, pick up friends and drive over to the park at the Village in Meridian. Blankets and sleepy seniors littering the hill to watch the sun rise. There were a few activities like photo frames for seniors to take photos with friends.

“I got up around 5:30 and got ready to leave the house, dressing, brushing stuff like that.” said Senior Emmy Hollingsworth. Many students hung out after the event.
“After senior sunrise, I went to breakfast at a café with some friends.” said Senior Adaliade Cull “I thought senior sunrise was okay, but with trees in the way you couldn’t see much of it.”
Senior sunrise was a great way for the class of 2026 to bond and enjoy a sense of camaraderie as they start working through their final, and most important year of high school. At the end of the year, Senior Sunset will close out this momentous year for the current senior class. Overall, it was a major event for the class of 2026, and they have much more coming their way as the school year progresses.
