Freshmen and seniors of Eagle High are both excited to start this school year, but both for different reasons.
As the new school season rolls around, many students are excited and anxious to start the year. Although experiencing the same first day, everyone is looking at it from different points of view and lives it differently.
The feeling of being a freshman at a new school with new people is so exciting and different, but for our seniors, it feels exciting yet familiar.
“The first day of school for me was very surreal and almost didn’t feel real knowing that it was my last year,” said senior Zion Gomes.

Seniors can universally agree that knowing this is their last year in high school is a crazy feeling and the last few years have flown by. Even though this is the last year here at Eagle High for these seniors, there are still things that students are striving to improve upon to ensure that they have the best year possible.
“This year, my goal is to improve on my grades and my overall charisma,” Gomes said.
Setting goals like this can be a healthy way to improve oneself and find out what works for someone. These goals can be set for doing better in school or even just in one’s personal life. Similar to the seniors, freshman also set goals for themselves to make sure they are getting the best high school experience while still having fun.
“This year, I am going to try my best to get my work done on time and do all of my homework,” said freshman Tucker Bishop.

This school year is bringing many new and fun things to the table and all students are going to be able to make it a great year. Freshmen have many new things to experience and to look forward to as well.
“My favorite thing about my freshman year so far is definitely my teachers. I like them a lot because they have all been very nice and welcoming,” Bishop said.
Seniors have different answers for their favorite thing about their year so far.
“My favorite thing about my senior year so far is that it is my last year of high school, and I feel like everyone finally respects me because I’m a senior,” Gomes said.
While all the students go to the same school on the same days, everyone is experiencing it differently, and it is interesting to see how students feel about their first and last years.
