ASL Club
ASL Club had their first meeting on Aug. 27 to discuss their upcoming plans for the year. The club will continue meet every Wednesday during A Days in S104 for the rest of year. During their next meeting, members will begin electing officers.
Chess Club
Chess club is now holding matches on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch and after school. They will also have official meetings with games and puzzles in the library every week.
Choir
On Sept. 30 at 6:00 p.m., Choir will be hosting a concert and fundraiser.
College and Career
On Oct. 1, Apply Idaho and Scholarship Idaho will open, so seniors can begin submitting their college applications. On Oct. 21, The Boise National College fair will be held to give students a chance to connect with colleges from across the country. Permission slips for this event will be collected to attend soon.
Counseling Office
Eagle High will be holding the PSAT on Oct. 22 for all sophomores and juniors who choose to take it. The last day for juniors to sign up is Sept. 21 and the opt-in form is available in PowerSchool via the school forms section.
Creative Writers Club
The first official meeting will be held on Oct. 15 in room E111 during lunch. All who are interested in joining can feel free to stop in.
FFA
Members will be doing a workshop at Boise Valley District leadership on Sept. 15. Following this, on Sept. 23 through Sept. 25, the Elementary Agriculture Expo for every first grader in the district.
Japanese Club
The club is working on a Japanese cooking night and will be making okonomiyaki. However, the exact date has not been set yet for the event.
Key Club
This year, Key Club members are volunteering for community service, such as the Spring Creek community center in Eagle. The students who help decorate, host game nights and work at the Eagle Food Bank, are also in charge of Red Ribbon Week.
Marching Band
The Eagle High Marching Band will hold rehearsal every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and will perform at the football games on Sept. 5 and19, Oct. 17and 24 and possibly in November. The competitions will be Sept. 27.
Source of Strength
Each month, Sources of Strength uses a wheel to model important areas like family support, positive friends and healthy activities to help students stay strong. During September, they are focusing on being welcoming by reminding students to reach out to someone new with a warm greeting to create a connection. They will also be working on interactive murals and future events later this month.
Speech and Debate
Speech and debate club is starting practice on Monday nights. They will also have a parent information session of Sept. 8 and the first tournament will be Oct. 17.
Student Council
The Student Council will put on the Homecoming assembly and parade during the football game at halftime on Sept. 19. They will also be holding the final days of their food drive on Sept. 18 to Sept.19.
Theatre Department
Theatre has begun rehearsals for their play, “Let’s Murder Marsha” after auditions were held in late August. The performances will be from Oct. 22 to 25.
Main Office
The Homecoming football game is on Sept. 19 against Boise High and the dance will be the next day on Sept. 20.
