Battle of the Books
The “Battle of the Books” team, “Fiction Addiction”, competed at Mountain View High in the IBOB tournament Saturday, March 29. The team goes up against another team, answering questions about the book they read. They had a fantastic time competing against other high school teams across the valley.
Earth Club
Earth Club had a bee watch on April 24. Bee Watch is a community science project where volunteers collect data on bees and other pollinators in Boise’s parks, open spaces and gardens. Volunteers surveyed bee boxes and nearby areas and uploaded data to iNaturalist. There was training for participants on April 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center. They also attended the tree planting ceremony at Guerber Park on April 25. Volunteer work at Guerber Park began at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25. The tree planting ceremony with the mayor followed at 3:30 p.m. at Ada-Eagle Sports Park, where selected individuals were recognized and invited to participate in burying the tree with the city’s golden shovels.
FCA
FCA is still meeting every Wednesday at lunch in room E103, to commune in fellowship with other believers and anyone else who will come. They are holding another worship night in May.
German Club
German Club meets on the last B-day of the week in SE203 (the German classroom.) They watch German YouTube videos, eat German food and learn about the topic of the week. The Eagle High news will announce when they meet next.
JustServe
The JustServe club had two important events recently. They held the Foster Teens Book drive, where they collected middle and high school aged books for students who are in foster care. Second, on April 10, they hosted the club service project where they colored and decorated bookmarks for the donated books.
Knit and Crochet Club
Knit and Crochet Club met up at a coffee shop recently, and next month they are planning on submitting a selection of handmade items to Operation Gratitude to support the military.
Yearbook
The yearbook staff has completely finished the book and sent it off to be published. They will be handed out on distribution day, on May 15. Students need to bring photo ID to pick up their Yearbook. There will be food trucks, games and more fun things to enjoy.
