This spring, the Eagle High tennis team has been working hard on and off of the court. With a packed 2025 schedule and a team full of excited athletes, Eagle Tennis is proving once again that they not only care about finding success in their matches, but also about their overall growth and positive community.
After opening the season with some commanding wins, including a triumphant 11-1 victory over Kuna High, both the Varsity and Junior Varsity squads have shown that they’re not here to just participate. They’re here to compete.
“I have been enjoying tennis a lot this season,” said sophomore Dallin Call. “I really like the drills we do, especially one activity that builds our coordination.”
With a calendar full of competitive matchups, including critical late-season duels against Boise High and Owyhee High, the team has its eyes set on Districts and beyond. The District Tournament kicks off at Owyhee High in early May, with the State Championships just around the corner on May 16 and 17.
Beyond the pursuit of medals and titles, the tennis program is deeply rooted in connection and culture.
“We have worked on having good communicating skills,” Call said. “It is helpful for when we play doubles, and it makes practices more fun when we are all just getting along and having a good time. I enjoy seeing my teammates every day, and I have found a lot of friends by playing tennis.”
The inclusivity of Eagle’s tennis program is one of its greatest strengths. Their coaching staff is focused on helping every athlete thrive, whether in singles or doubles, and the team has cultivated a welcoming space where effort and enthusiasm go hand in hand.
“My favorite part about tennis is definitely the people,” said sophomore Seth Williamson. “It is fun to just mess around with everyone on the team. The social aspect of it is why I play.”
As Eagle High continues toward the State tournament, the team remains united by a shared love of the sport, a strong work ethic and a bond that goes beyond the court.
