With summer break quickly approaching, students are becoming anxious to be set free from school. Many students have big plans for the break, beginning May 23 and ending in August. Whether students decide to travel, hang out with friends or catch up on sleep, the summer is sure to be a well-deserved break from the stress of school.
“I am going on an Alaskan cruise this summer and I’ll also be celebrating my 17th birthday during the trip,” said sophomore Hudson Grant. Having something exciting, like a cruise, to look forward to is sure to make the rest of the semester a little bit easier for him.
“I am attending many church camps,” said sophomore Emily McAllister. “I am going to FSY [For the Strength of Youth], a church camp at Boise State University, and OFY [Options for Youth], another church camp centered on outdoor activities.” McAllister is spending her summer with friends at various church outings.
“I am also going to be a youth camp counselor, go to the Idaho fair, see family in North Carolina and celebrate my 16th birthday,” she added. McAllister’s birthday, a trip to see her family, and everything else she will do this summer are sure to add up to a great break.
“I am doing a class at Boise State University about film history,” said sophomore Lily Towne. “I am also looking forward to walking around in parks and spending time with friends.” Hanging out with friends, like Towne plans to do, is sure to make for a good summer.
“I love swimming and want to do lots of swimming this summer,” said sophomore Athena Toone. “I also am going to a church camp.”
Many students have very exciting plans awaiting them for summer break. Travelling, going to church camps, hanging out with friends and enjoying fun hobbies are great ways to fill up the summer break. When students return to school in the fall, they’ll be rested and ready for another successful school year after an awesome summer break.
