Disney is coming out with two new live action remakes, “Lilo & Stitch” and “How to Train Your Dragon,” both being released within the next two months. These two cartoons were some fan favorites and have fans excited for their live action remakes.
The live action “Lilo & Stitch” will come out on May 23, and will be featuring some famous actors, even bringing back some of the original voice actors.
According to www.space.com, “Chris Sanders is voicing Stitch once again after playing him in the 2002 original movie. Maia Kealoha as Lilo Peleki, the six-year-old native Hawaiian girl who find Stitch. Sydney Agudong as Nani Pelekai, the 18-year-old sister and now legal guardian of Lilo after their parents passed away.” These are just a few of the most anticipated actors to make a showing in the live action remake. However, students may be wondering how they are going to make Stitch.
According to www.msn.com, “Disney took the best approach to bringing Stitch to live-action by not really changing anything about his animated appearance. The blue alien still has a cute quality to his design that is instrumental to his original look.” This means that they have just changed the animation of Stitch to look more realistic and lifelike, while still keeping the same feeling of the original cartoon.
For the remake of “How to Train Your Dragon,” they will be doing it just as they are doing “Lilo & Stitch” where they will have real-life actors instead of animated characters.
According to www.parade.com, “Only one voice actor form the animated trilogy is returning for the live-action, and that’s Gerad Butler. Butler originally voiced and will again play Stoick the Vast, the brave leader of Berk.”
While Gerad Butler is the only original voice returning to the live action “How to Train Your Dragon,” Mason Thames is playing Hiccup, Nico Parker as Astrid, Nick Frost as Gobber, Julian Dennison as Fighlegs, Gabriel Howell is playing Snotlout, Bronwyn James as Ruffnut, Harry Trevaldwyn as Tuffnut and Ruth Codd is playing Phlemga.
These two live actions movies will be coming out at the end of the school year, so if students want a great kick off to the summer, seeing these two remakes wouldn’t be a bad way to go.
