Teachers work very hard to ensure that their students are learning what they need to learn. They make sure to prepare their students and get them ready for whatever challenges they may face in and out of school. One teacher that has been working very hard for her students for 13 years is teacher Jennifer Foster.
“I teach College Biology, APES (AP Environmental Science) and Idaho Ecology,” Foster said. Foster has a wide variety of classes that she teaches, and she gives her all to every student in each class.
“I love to camp, garden, go to concerts, travel and read,” Foster said. Foster loves to do many different activities outside of teaching. She especially enjoys doing anything outdoors.
“I have always loved science and realized I liked teaching, so I went back to school to get my teaching certificate,” Foster said. After discovering her passion for teaching, Foster returned to school over 13 years ago to become a teacher. She teaches science now and greatly enjoys it.
“My family has inspired me to teach, especially my mom, multiple aunts and my grandma,” Foster said. Foster has many people in her life that have inspired her to teach. Without that inspiration from her family, Foster may never have pursued her dream and become a teacher.
“I love interacting with students. I love when students figure out a science problem on their own and I get to see their face light up,” Foster said. Foster’s favorite part about her teaching job is her students. She enjoys teaching them and helping them with difficult questions. She loves it when she gets to see her students work hard on a problem and succeed in figuring it out.
“I love doing labs in my class. I love the eco columns lab that my APES students work on at the beginning of the year,” Foster said. Foster loves to give her students hands on activities, like labs, to help them be more engaged in learning.
“Keep moving forward. Don’t give up and seek out help,” Foster said. Foster’s biggest piece of advice to her students is to keep going and get help if needed.
Because of teachers like Foster who work hard to equip their students with the skills they need, Eagle High is able to raise up students who will be successful in their lives after high school.
