During the months of January and February, students at Eagle High get excited for the Sweethearts dance, which took place this year on Feb. 15. Much like homecoming, many students get a group, find a place for dinner, take pictures, go to the dance and go to after parties.
One thing that differs from homecoming is instead of boys asking the girls, the girls make a poster and the boys get asked. The girls get creative with their posters and specialize them to match their date’s favorite song, sport, food or activities.
Sophomore Madison Giorgetti was very excited to ask her boyfriend, sophomore Keaton Rust. She made him a poster that said, “If this world were mine, you would say yes, sweethearts?” This references the song “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar.
“‘Luther’ is one of his favorite songs so that’s why I based the poster off of it,” Giorgetti said.
Sophomore Mckenley Gupton asked sophomore Cole Jones with a poster that read, “Be the Naruto to my Hinata… sweethearts?”

“I chose this for his poster because he loves ‘Naruto’, and he watched it with his friends. I got him a ‘Naruto’ costume to put on when I asked him, and he loved it,” Gupton said.
Sophomore Lauren Damiani asked sophomore Luke Sampson with a poster that said, “I would be so lucky if we went to sweethearts.”
“I found the idea on Pinterest and thought it was cute. I got him a small box of Lucky Charms with it, and he said he liked it,” Damiani said.
Junior Paige Ange asked senior Max Murphy with a poker-based poster that said, “Max, don’t be a joker, be the king to my queen and go straight to sweets with me.”
“He loves poker so that’s why I chose a poker poster. I got him two balloons and some candy with it. His reaction was so funny. He just said, ‘Poker, yeah, yeah I like it,’” Ange said.
Junior Ella Stenquist asked sophomore Dylan Martinez with a poster based on Legos that said, “I can’t wait to build memories with you, Lego to sweets.”
“He was so excited. He loves Legos, and I got him a Lego set with it,” Stenquist said.
Overall, the girls at Eagle High were super creative with their posters for this year’s sweethearts dance.
