For many people at Eagle High, electives are a great way to explore passions and interests. The school offers a wide variety of electives ranging from Wildlife Biology to Folk Art. Graphic Design 1 and 2 is a great opportunity to try something different. In the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, Eagle High will offer Graphic Design 1, 2 and 3.
The graphic design classes are currently taught by teacher Taylor Damon. The class involves using the platform Adobe Illustrator, where students learn to create and edit different graphics.
“Graphic Design 3 is more about preparing students for professional careers,” Damon said. “Students gain practical experience through internships, job shadowing, and by designing for real organizations like school clubs and programs.”

Real world experience is very limited when it comes to high school classes. Graphic Design 3 is a rare opportunity to build a resume and practice. Along with this, there is a chance to become certified in the skill.
“You can take the Certiport Exam in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop and be a certified Adobe Professional,” Damon said. “You will also take a Technical Skills Assessment through the state to be considered a capstone student.”
The graphic design pathway is a valuable opportunity to find a passion and gain useful skills. Make sure to consider graphic design when picking a schedule for next school year.
