Marvel’s 2024 movies were hit-or-miss, with some being okay, some being terrible and very few were huge hits, like “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which was one of the biggest hits in the industry. While 2024 was not the best for Marvel movies, 2025 is predicted to be very different.
According to Thedirect.com, “2025 looks different as some expect this year to potentially be Marvel Studios best ever with its TV and movie schedule. Half a dozen shows will be released on Disney+, and the MCU will gain three new movies.”
A few of these potentially amazing Marvel movies are “Captain America: Brave New World”, “Thunderbolts” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” These movies will include well-known actors like Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Sebastain Stan, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
“Captain America: Brave New World” is the fourth solo movie for the character Captain America. However, Chris Evans will not be returning since Steve Rogers passed the shield onto Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, in “Avengers: Endgame.” This is the first MCU film of the 2025 year, and was released in theaters on Friday, Feb. 14.
The next MCU movie will be “Thunderbolts.” It will be the final film in Marvel Studios Phase five slate of the Mavel timeline. In “Thunderbolts” a new team will come together to complete a mission. This team is said to have Marvel characters John Walker, Bucky Barnes, Ghost, Taskmaster, the Red Guardian and Yelena in it. This movie is planned to be released on May 2, which will be a fantastic kick-off for the summer of 2025.
Finally, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is one of the most anticipated Marvel movie for this year. Almost exactly one year ago, on Valentine’s Day in 2024, Marvel confirmed who would be playing in this movie which includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
According to Thedirect.com, “Set in a different universe than the main MCU timeline, ‘The Fantastic Four’ will highlight a retro-futuristic, 1960s-inspired take on the team and their world as they progress to hero status.” Some are even more excited for the possibility that this movie will lead into the new Avenger movies, where the Fantastic Four are supposed to play huge roles, and possibly even have Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
Between these three huge new movies coming out and others suspected of being announced in 2025, it will hopefully be a great year for Marvel movies and the MCU timeline.
