When it comes to the most popular soda shops around town, the rivalry between Swig and Sodalicious is fierce. Both chains offer customizable soda creations, cookies and the perfect chance to satisfy one’s sweet cravings. But in the end, one is better, and that is Swig.
Swig’s menu is unmatched. From the classically loved “Dirty Dr. Pepper,” to the everchanging seasonal offerings, their drinks combos are reliably balanced and flavorful. Swig has a talent at nailing the best blend of syrup and soda, offering just the right mix of flavor and fizz.
“I like Swig better than Sodalicious,” said senior Kenley Riggs. “I love that they have some Italian soda options available on the menu that are super yummy.”
At a glance, the menus of both stores are very similar. They both have a large variety of flavors and mixes to choose from, and they price their items similarly, with most soda concoctions starting at a base price of about $1.50.
“I know a lot of the drinks on the menu look the same, but I like Swig much better,” said senior Holly Hill. “I think that their drinks just taste more flavorful. The soda base even seems to be more carbonated and syrupier.”
While both spots serve giant cookies, Swig has established themselves to be the best place to get a delicious classic sugar cookie with pink frosting. Sodalicious does have some great seasonal cookies though, like their lime coconut one, which can’t be ignored.
Both shops do have great service. Their drive-thru lines move quickly, and they hire staff that are consistently friendly and upbeat. Swig is located on Colchester Dr. & Eagle Rd, which is about nine minutes from Eagle High, and Sodalicous is just three minutes from Eagle High, on Fisher Park Way. They are both easy to access and provide for a quick trip when in need of sweet treat.
Overall, Swig has proven to be ahead of the game on their innovation and creativity. They have been quick to expand their menu, offering unique things like pretzel bites and healthier drink options. They have a huge variety of items to choose from, and they simply provide quality drinks and snacks that satisfy cravings.
