This year’s Spotify Wrapped which came out in December of 2024, shows a user’s top song, how many minutes spent listening to that song, their top artist and how their taste has changed throughout the year. There are a variety of different music genres that students at Eagle High listen to, and these students have shared what Spotify Wrapped thinks about their taste in music.
First, sophomore Cody Pitt’s Spotify Wrapped showed that his top artist was Frank Ocean, and his top song was “Shoot It Out” by J. Dot Breezy. Spotify shows that Pitt spent 605 minutes listening to this song throughout the year. He said that his taste has stayed the same since the beginning of 2024, and Spotify Wrapped represents his taste in music well.
Next, sophomore Luke Ritter’s Spotify Wrapped shows that his top artist was Daniel Caeser, and he spent 550 minutes listening to his top song, “Something” by The Beatles. Ritter thinks that his taste in music had changed since the beginning of the year.
“I started listening to older artists, bands and songs a lot more and it’s became one of my favorite things to listen to,” he said. He also thinks that Spotify Wrapped doesn’t represent his taste in music very well.
“I think it covers how I was at the beginning of the year rather than my growth and what I actually listened to the most,” Ritter said.
Sophomore Charlie Moore’s Spotify Wrapped shows that his top artist was Action Brunson, and his stop song was “Rotten Apple” by Alice and Chains. Moore spent 600 minutes listening to this song throughout the year. Moore thinks that Spotify Wrapped represents his taste well, but that his music taste had changed since the beginning of the year.
“I used to listen to only rap, so my music is definitely different now,” Moore said.
Overall, many look forward to Spotify Wrapped and the end of the year to see how their music taste has developed.
